I’m currently enrolled in a Modern Fantasy Literature course for my Master’s. I recently finished Peter Beagle’s The Last Unicorn and just today read A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin.
Both are excellent books I recommend, especially for dungeon masters.
Neither
really has anything to do with D&D per se. But they
both–throughout the telling of their stories–dive into the nature of
Magic and what it is.
It’s worth thinking about.
How does magic work in your campaigns? How about the nature of a wizard or magician? Are they respected or feared? What might that look like?
Feed your brain with good literature … books and movies and games .. and use those thoughts to fuel your campaign.
